At the beginning of our company's establishment, we adhered to the policy of simultaneous construction, simultaneous production, and simultaneous localization, and made significant progress in all aspects of our work. In December 1996, the company was fully completed and put into operation, forming an annual production capacity of 150000 vehicles, 270000 engines, and 180000 transmissions. The main construction projects of the first phase of the project are two production plants consisting of stamping, welding, painting, final assembly, engine and transmission workshops, as well as auxiliary facilities such as product development center, training center, sales center, railway shipping station, commodity car parking lot, and spare parts center warehouse. The company still has some reserved space for the construction of the second phase of the project. On August 19, 1997, the company's 150000 car engineering project passed the official national acceptance. In the same year, the company achieved a profit of 180 million yuan. This marks a historic turning point for FAW Volkswagen from large-scale construction to large-scale production, entering a new stage of scaling up and creating benefits. After full completion, FAW Volkswagen is moving towards higher business goals.

On April 30, 1998, the company officially passed the ISO9001 quality system certification. As of 2022, FAW Volkswagen has more than 50 varieties of Jetta and Audi models, making it a domestic sedan enterprise that can produce both popular mid range cars and luxury high-end cars.
